Add a sending alias to Outlook

To create a send alias in outlook we need to setup a dummy pop3 account to get access to the sending (SMTP) settings. First, open outlook and go to Tools -> Account Settings. Outlook Main Window
From here, click on the New button to create a new account. Account Settings
In the wizard that opens, choose the default option Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP and click next. New Email Account Wizard
We need to manually configure server settings. Check the box at the bottom and click next. Manually Configure Server Settings
Choose Internet E-Mail and click next. Choose Email Type
This next screen is where the dummy account is setup. Use the same settings as shown. Change the otheraddress@domain.com to the desired address and change My Name to your name. Ensure that you DO NOT change the alias@chatonka.com username. The password is the same as your email account. Server Settings
When Finished, click on More Settings and then change to the Outgoing Server tab at the top. The SMTP server requires authentication. Ensure that the rest of the dialog is as shown. More Settings
Close out all of these windows, applying as necessary and finish the wizard by pressing next. You should be back at the main outlook screen. Add more alias accounts as necessary, following the above steps. After you have added all of the alias accounts, close out of the Account Settings. You should be at the main outlook window again. From here, open Tools -> Options as shown. Tools -> Options
Select the Mail Setup tab. In here, ensure that Send Immediately when connected is unchecked, then click Send/Receive... Mail Setup Tab in Options
Edit the All Accounts group. This is where we will disable sending from the aliased addresses. Send/Receive Groups
For each new account on the left, disable receiving mail by unchecking the Receive Mail Items box. If you have an exchange mailbox setup, leave that account unmodified. Send/Receive Settings - All Accounts
